Welcome to GeneTrack
GeneTrack is a bioinformatics software package for storing, querying and visualizing interval oriented data. It was developed, improved and simplified and over many years, with accessibility, extensibility and performance as its most important goals. It provides:
- a framework and application programming interface for efficient data storage including:
- fast query and retrieval of genomic intervals
- a data fitting functionality that can combine and average multiple noisy measurements
- a peak detection algorithm that can identify maximal and non-overlapping peaks
- a charting and visualization layer for displaying the stored data
- a web enabled interface that makes the plots accessible via a browser
The software was written in Python programming language, it has very few external dependencies and it is available under the MIT Public License.
